My niece, Victoria, has taken lessons with Ms LeBaron for the last two years. She has progressed rapidly and is an enthusiastic student. Ms LeBaron gives the students a strong foundation in classical musical and has a knack for finding pieces that bring out the best in each student at recital. Having met families of other students, it is apparent she is highly regarded by both the students and parents.

Karine LeBaron is the best teacher you could ever get! She works with her students very well and she is very encouraging. I have never had a teacher like her. She is understanding, has very precise techniques and gets her students very well scores on NYSSMA. She has helped me grow as a piano student and she has helped me become who I am today.

Karine LeBaron is amazing. She has helped my son and daughter improve greatly in music and music theory. They wouldn't have gotten such great NYSSMA scores without her. She works very well with kids and both my children love her.

Mrs. LeBaron is an excellent and patient piano teacher. She can make students never give up piano.
She pays high attention on building up foundation of piano techniques which is most important part for a piano player.
The most valuable thing my kid was benefited from Mrs. LeBaron is that he knows how to control his hands and play with
relax arms.
She is a great teach!

As a Piano/Voice teacher myself, I have been fortunate to have met Karine LeBaron a few years back. Thanks to her dedication to music education, she often generously referred her Piano students to me for their Voice training needs. Rather than competing with each other, we developed a mutually respectful relationship throughout this time. I was at one of her recitals where I witnessed her true talent as a teacher - it was all there in her students' performances! As an educator myself,
I highly recommend Karine to your child or yourself to better your music education, and to have fun along the way!

I started my first piano lessons about a few months ago. As a busy physician, this was my passion to learn piano at some point in my life and I was lucky to have Karine as my piano teacher. She is unbelievably passionate about her work and can easily transfer her love to music to the students. She is extremely encouraging and energetic and when taking my lessons I totally forget about my stressful day. She is very talented in making you feel the song and use your fingers correctly instead of just playing the notes. I absolutely recommend her to be a part of your long joyful journey for learning piano. Good luck and enjoy the ride!

After our son had been playing keyboard on his own for a year, we decided to enroll him in lessons. Mrs LeBaron was the third piano teacher we interviewed. She provided me some numbers of students from New York for reference. Their recommendations were incredible. We passed over a Berklee graduate and a long-time local teacher because the opportunity to study with Mrs LeBaron was obviously a rare chance.
Mrs LeBaron is staggeringly passionate. Her degree is in piano, and she was trained in the East in the Russian tradition. She loves the kids and has the firmness of a good mother when its needed, but her excitement for the work is infectious. Our son gets up in the morning and does his practice immediately, and plays more throughout the day. We have upgraded from a midi keyboard to a Yamaha clavinova, and I'm confident that will serve him for a long time to come.
Mrs LeBaron is a very hands-on teacher. She will hold a child's hand, showing them how to move each digit. As a physician, I found this quite interesting. I had her do it with me, and I realized she is working to protect the extensor mechanism. If you see older students wringing their hands after playing, this is pain in the extensor tendons on the back of the hand. She works diligently in every lesson to teach the kids how to protect themselves from this sort of injury.
Now our daughter, 3 years older, wants to play piano too.
I cannot recommend Mrs LeBaron highly enough.

We are so pleased with Ms. Karine's piano lesson. She is great in hand technique and works really hard with my son at every lesson. My son is really happy to be with her. Ms. Karine not only puts lots of time and efforts into lesson but she also puts tremendous amount of works in preparing for the kids for piano exams and exposed the kids to the real music. We really thank you for being our son's piano teacher

I recently decided to re-acquaint myself with the piano after finding myself captivated at a local jazz festival. After tinkering around by myself and getting nowhere, it dawned on me that many performing pianists have a foundation in classical piano- and that, if I wanted to dig myself out of incompetence anytime soon, I would need the same background. I found Karine on Yelp and arranged a trial lesson with her. Before we started the lesson, she inquired about my musical background (6 years as a child) and more importantly, my rationale for starting again and where I saw myself in the future (to play music I love for myself and others). A few rudimentary exercises later, it became apparent to both of us that this would be no easy task.
However, Karine has experience with adult students- and based on her assessment of my goals and technical deficiencies, she proposed a multi-pronged plan to get me where I wanted to be. I didn't conceive of it then, but it's been 6 months since I started learning with Karine's mentorship and with her help my goal has truly become a living experience- where the process itself represents not just technical development and musical appreciation, but also an infinite source of personal enrichment and gratification. I'll tell you why:
As a scientist, I was instantly drawn to Karine's extensive pedagogical knowledge and the enthusiasm with which she applies it. After agreeing on music appropriate for my skill level and taste, we work through individual measures- covering both technical and expressive facets that are crucial to playing a piece as the composer meant it to be played. Her encyclopedic command of techniques and exercises becomes most apparent with difficult passages, which instantly more tractable based on her quick diagnosis and prescription of how to practice the music to achieve mastery. By capitalizing on her wealth of knowledge, music I could only listen to before in wonder can be accessible repertoire with time and effort. Do you have a song that you love to listen to but have never thought you could play?
Had I known what I would experience daily now: that compared to listening to beautiful music, being able to play it and feel it coming from within oneself is absolutely transcendental in comparison, then I would have re-started the piano earlier. There is a distinction, however. In contrasting my years playing superficially as a child and the recent restart and gratifying recent months, the worth of Karine's mentorship is readily apparent. If you're serious about making piano a part of your life, give her a try. As an adult student who has found his life enriched immeasurably with her help, and foresees that continuing in the long-term future, I cannot recommend her highly enough.
